I had been here in the past but I hadn't visited in years. It is a great bakery. The best bakery in all of Bakersfield in my opinion. I went to go get some sweets to enjoy it with a cup of hot chocolate this weekend. I look forward to it and coming more often to this bakery.

Pictures taken back home .. there are "no pictures allowed" inside La Perla Bakery. And honestly, what fkn sane gluten loving person walks into a bakery store and says hey I want to take a bunch of pictures of this yummy stuff? No, no-no, all you're really thinking about is stuffing it in your mouth. But, before you're allowed to do that, you should carefully pile up as much as you truly desire using the tongs provided onto a handy platter, stand in line, and pay beforehand. No prices are listed but arrest assured that each individual item is priced at less than $1. Advice to come in with at least $5 is just the smart thing to do because honestly you'll want more than one piece.Intuitively one is drawn to what pleases their eye first, but if you want to know what's actually within the bread itself simply ask and any of the workers will let you know in either Spanish or English what the name of the pastry is as well as what it contains inside.I purchased all of this in the box plus the bag of semitas and a large cup of coffee for $11. There are a few more fruit filled pastries hidden underneath the concha. This place is doing everything right.

Great tasting bread and selection. The price range is in the higher range for a bakery but the quality is better than many.

These are some Tasty Treats That Can't Be Beat!I was looking for a real Mexican Bakery in Bakersfield. La Perla is the place I was looking for. I had a flaky churro that was to die for. I didn't see the pigs till I checked out. Everything has been amazing from this place.

Used to be a good bakery, now every time I go the cashier looks mad, there's never conchas or cuernitos, ojitos , or payasitos, there's always muffins, crunchy bread, will have to look for another bakery this one is not it anymore.

Out of bread by 5 p.m. Cashier wasn't friendly just said "No. That's all there is" Instead of apologizing for not having bread, being a bakery. There was no sign stating they were going to close early.(or maybe not? Who knows. It didn't look like they were trying to put more bread out. Highly disappointed for going to a bakery with no bread in it .

This may not be for everyone because it's a Mexican bakery. The bread or pastries they create are delicious and can be addicting, In my few visits I found that they make the best doughnuts in this area.

Perfect for buying pan dulce before getting to work. Opens at 5:30 am and has a variety of sweets to choose from. Fresh brewed coffee is available (if you enjoy a regular cup with no frills) and a variety of Mexican candy. Definitely my go to place to surprise my staff with a special "thank you".

First of all i did notice that they accept cash, card and ebt. If you want fresh baked mexican bread come here. The times I've gone the owners who work there are really nice. If you have questions about the bread they are very helpful. If you want a kind experience, then this is the place for you.

Their pan dulce (mexican bread) is the best. Bakery has been in business for several years now at the same locations. They remain as good as when they open. Fresh bread made at all times. They also have a variety of sodas and cold drinks, coffee, Mexican candy and Spanish magazines. Prices are decent.

It's annoying how they do not display the prices for the bread so you have to ask for the prices if you want to know and the workers have a really rude attitude. Their prices have also gone up because of the high demand of people buying their bread
