I frequent this superb restaurant often as I like the ambiance that is part of this restaurant. The team is awfuly cordial and qualified. The service is very efficient. Not to mention, the food you get is magnificent. I came many times and I was never disappointed. The cost is fair. I suggest this place to my friends and family.

Great local spot with good food and a casual atmosphere. Is the perfect spot to go before you attend a show at the Cabot theater. Big thanks to Joe and his crew by making our night absolutely wonderful!

Review №3

The food and service were beyond our expectations. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this spot. Amazing place to take the family out for dinner.

Review №4

Had a good experience in this spot with my girlfriend. The food came quickly and the service is just fantastic. Prices are affordable.

Review №5

Great food!

Review №6

This place rocks. The chicken parmesan sandwich will feed two people. Great staff and the owner is on site cooking up a storm!!!

Review №7

A little too kid friendly. Food and service was great. I wish they offered to move us, I felt a little crammed.

Review №8

Good was great. Sunday night not to busy. They had no problem sitting 5. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would go back and try more.

Review №9

Ordered out. Food had very little flavor. Service was fine.

Review №10

Service is spotty. If you're at the bar you're okay, otherwise, good luck. Food is good, atmosphere is fine. To the owner/manager: DO YOUR PATRONS A FAVOR AND HIRE MORE HELP.

Review №11

Reasonably priced food that's hearty & delicious. Cozy atmosphere and Excellent service.

Review №12

Hip without being shabby. Vibe is equal parts bar and coffee shop, menu trends to upscale diner.Weekend brunch so it yourself bloody Marys , they give you a glass of liquor and you add the tomato sauce and trimmings.Service is attentive but not fawning. Tips are probably pooled as we didn't seem to be assigned a specific server.

Review №13

Great pub spot a few doors down from Cabot Theatre. Knew I liked the vibe because of the prominent Bob Marley painting in the bar area as well as other pieces of art. For food, several steps above standard bar fair. Homemade steak fries, great ribs, awesome burger, and my favorite was the homemade beans. We beat the rush that came to eat before the Night Ranger show. Get there early on show nights or you will miss the opportunity to try this place. Noticed they offer brunch too.

Review №14

Friendly staff, great food and nice atmosphere.

Review №15

Stopped in for lunch and had a great meal. Big sandwiches. Big appetizer portions. Staff was friendly and attentive. Very happy with decision to grab a bite there.

Review №16

Great place to hang with friends. Service was very good

Review №17

Friendly service, good drinks and fun place

Review №18

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Very friendly staff and great service. Would definitely recommend the Sunday brunch!

Review №19

My wife and I have been going to EJ Cabots since they opened. We are not kids and are accustom to eating well and drinking well. Always happy in the past never had an issue, loved the bartenders and wait staff. Then last night after several months of not getting over there, we had a terrible experience. The salty bartender apparently took offense to sending the drink back and although she tried to hide her snickering and whispers to the kitchen staff and other bartender, my meal came not even close to being cooked correctly. We thought they had changed hands or something, then our regular waitress recognized us, said hello and asked how dinner was. We told her how disappointed we were. Not sure we will go back again, but I believe the bartender and waitress made a point to under cook my meal. Was not going to send back the food, too risky. The dog got a nice meal when we got home.

Review №20

Loved it! The servers were very accommodating to the party of 10 I brought in New Year's Eve before the show at the Cabot, no hassle whatsoever! Great food, drinks, and service! Lots of different options to choose from. Returned again and got the seafood stuffed mushrooms and Ipswich steamers and was very impressed....fantastic! Very friendly clientele. Highly recommend it!!

Review №21

So delicious as always, and just the sweetest server. One of my favorite local places to go!

Review №22

Small place. Pretty easy to miss if you're not looking. They had a large wine selection for bottle and glass prices. The bar had beer and cider on tap and bottle. I had a solid, basic burger.

Review №23

Great atmosphere. The calamari fries were terrific.

Review №24

Great specials.. prime rib was an awesome deal!!!

Review №25

Excellent food, but expensive. Overall very good., but not stellar. Would go again.

Review №26

E.J. Cabots is among many restaurants in Beverly, MA but I like the fact that they offer a variety of options. Something for everyone: steaks, wonderful ribs, chicken, fish, pasts and a great variety of salads. All ingredients is top quality and the people are very friendly. Really nice choices of wine also if you enjoy your wine.

Review №27

Fantastic service! This Chicken Teriyaki Swiss cheese dinner sandwich hit the spot. It wasn't dry at all and it was a generous amount of french fries given. So satisfied with the environment too.

Review №28

Intimate bar and restaurant.

Review №29

Good variety of food, only thing I don't care for is the unrealistic wait times. We were told 10 mins 4 times.

Review №30

Cozy atmosphereGood and drinks were good.

Review №31

Wonderful time at Cabots. Food was super. Had a wait staff that was not only attentive and professional but funny and warm. We'll be back even though we live in the south shore.

Review №32

Awesome steak!

Review №33

Very customer focused bartenders, waiters, and manager. Awesome place for meat (beef) dishes. We got the mussels with garlic appetizer and an Angus beef steak tip entreee with garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Great coffee martinis , and live entertainment on the night we went. Def. go back again soon.

Review №34

Review №37

Great food & hide portions. Did I mention the food? It's great. Don't forget to try the food...

Review №38

We just had drinks, but the drinks were great. Nice atmosphere and Joey always delivers.

Review №39

I heard mixed reviews on this place. My experience was fantastic. Little but of a wait for the food but we'll worth it. The stuffed mushrooms were filled with huge chunks of seafood and the filet to die for! My husband got the homemade pasta and loved it!

Review №40

Always good food and entertainment.

Review №41

Great specials! Thursday prime rib night worth going! Friendly service and great on tap beers.

Review №42

Great food & service—can't wait to go back!

Review №43

The best option on Cabot St. Period, ver solid all around. Don't go as I need a seat when I do!

Review №44

Great neighborhood spot- nightly specials

Review №45

Prefer wrong, took 15 mins to get a side salad, bartender opens the bars condiments cover into our Ruben thousand island and ignores that it happened - manager doesn't apologize and gets us the wrong sauce for Ruben and gets pissy when asked for thousand island. Place smells of cockroach spray!!!Very disappointed in a place that came highly recommended. :-( no tip except to say the management and customer service need to get better

Review №46

Great service and large portions! Looking forward to there Sunday brunch!

Review №47

Top-shelf menu, very laid-back atmosphere, good craft beers. Two-and-a-half hours of total enjoyment.

Review №48

Went here for the first time last week and loved it. The reuben sandwich with fries was outstanding. Portions were huge and prices reasonable.

Review №49

Great food very pricey

Review №50

This was great--we threw my mom's retirement party here and Joe was super helpful and great. We had a side room and did a cash bar. EJ's did a buffet with awesome chicken fingers, veggies and dip, hummus and pita, meatballs, caesar salad, and tons of other good stuff. Definitely try the potato chips-they're home made! They had a great beer selection, an awesome staff who was super helpful and nice, and great tunes. We stayed for dinner after and it great pub food. Next time I'd go with a special instead of the veggie wrap, they're supposed to be good! $1 oysters on Mondays! Have to check that out.

Review №51

Really enjoyed the service and food here.

Review №52

Nice atmosphere plenty of beers and the food I had was good

Review №53

Always delicious food and drink.

Review №54

Nice place, very noisy. Lots of food choices & portions are huge. Food is just ok.

Review №55

Wouldn't go back. Food was mediocre and the waitress should find another job that doesn't involve customer service!

Review №56

Great food, cozy place, great drinks, perfect.

Review №57

Anyplace where Downeast Cider is on tap is fine with me. The food is good, the service is slow, but that way you get to hang in a nice place.

Review №58

Great food and atmosphere, waiting for meal too awhile and service a bit slow.

Review №59

Good place for a beer, some pub food and to watch the game.

Review №60

The Ruban was amazing. This is pub food at its finest.

Review №61

Great Faroe Salmon!

Review №62

Perfect for a night out with friends, personally I would like to see more beers on tap, but otherwise everything was fantastic.

Review №63

Interesting Local Tavern. Substantial menu of food choices, whiskey, beer, and limited wine selection

Review №64

Enjoyed a fabulous meal at EJ's! I had their lasagna bolognese & absolutely one of the best & most delicious I've ever had! My dinner mates had other dinner items. The first had the beef tips which were tender cuts of meat, cooked & seasoned perfectly. The other had a NY style Ruben sandwich which was delicious & perfectly prepared. Each meal portion was very generous leaving each of us leftovers which made for a great 2nd meal for each of us the next day!Drinks were also delicious & mire than sufficient. Service was excellent, even though it was very busy & every table was full. We'll be back again & again! EJ's won't disappoint!

Review №65

The food We got was FABULOUS (5 STARS FOR FOOD QUALITY & SERVING SIZE), however we tried to order SEVERAL different regular and "special menu items only to be told 3 or 4x they were out of it or missing parts. If the food we did finally settle on wasn't as good as it was, We would have given one star (or NO STARS)!!! I was (DRINK ORDER #1:) CRAVING A MOSCOW MULE, WAY TOO SWEET AND THE GINGER BEER WAS FLAT, sent back, (DRINK ORDER #2:) BLOODY MARY, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THE BLOODY MIX WAS THICK, THE RUDE SERVER SAID "YES IT'S PRETTY THICK" (YAY!!!), IT WAS TOMATO TINTED WATER, COULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANY THINNER, HAD NO FLAVOR WHAT SO EVER. WHEN I TOLD THE RUDE SERVER THAT I WAS STILL DISAPPOINTED SHE SAID "WHEN YOU PUT VODKA IN THE MIX IT THINS OUT (yes a little bit, but this was NOT the case at all & I told her so, & that I know what I'm talking about, I was a bartender/server for almost 20 years) she then said "Well, do u want to just stick to water then?" I said no, she took the anemic bloody Mary & DID NOT ASK WHAT I WANTED INSTEAD....(DRINK ORDER #3:) I ORDERED A JAMESON & COKE...THE COKE WAS FLAT, I WAS TOLD THEY "COULD NOT" TAKE A THIRD DRINK OFF OF OUR BILL (THAT'S BULLSHIT BTW) THE BARTENDER (NOT THE RUDE SERVER) THEN TOLD ME THE REASON IT WAS FLAT IS BECAUSE THEIR "DRINKS ARE STRONG & WE OVERPOUR"....I ASKED FOR JUST A COKE, WHICH TOOK FOREVER (THEY CHANGED THE LINES) THIS REGULAR COKE WAS OK...THE BARTENDER TOLD ME THAT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON W/ ISSUES ABOUT MY DRINKS BEING FLAT, TURNS OUT I WAS NOT, BUT I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO SAY ANYTHING, THE FAMILY NEXT TO US SAID EACH OF THEIR SODAS WERE FLAT TOO & THE 2 GENTLEMEN ON THE OTHER SIDE SAID THE SAME, BUT ALSO DIDNT COMPLAIN....SORRY, BUT IF IM PAYING YOU FOR SOMETHING, I WANT IT CORRECT OR IM NOT PAYING....AND YOUR TIP...HAHA, NOPE.THANK GODDESS FOR THE SWEET BARBACK/BUSGIRL(?) SHE GOT THE TIP.Our "Server" (She had blonde curly hair & an accent) was terrible, RUDE, IGNORANT & she talked down to me. The drinks were AWFUL!!! It's my B-Day and all I wanted was to have a nice meal and some drinks w/ My Mom... I will be calling to speak to a manager or to the owner 2moro....

My Fiance and I went to EJ Cabots during Restaurant Week here in Beverly. When we arrived, the atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant is very cozy and clean. With the Restaurant Week deal, they offer a three-couse prix fix menu for $25.We started our meal with a caesar salad and clam chowder. Both were good but nothing to right home about. The clam chowder had a bit too much sand for my liking. We were surprised to not received any bread before out meal, yet they did give us a bread plate. For our entrees we ordered the baked haddock and a chicken/pasta dish. The chicken/pasta dish was good, tasty and a large portion, but again nothing to write home about. The baked haddock was one of the worst I have ever had, there was ZERO flavor and was very watery. I ended up having to use two wedges of lemon to make it have some taste. The vegetables that accompanied the haddock were good. I've had a lot better haddock at the Anchor for 1/3 of the price.Lastly, we ordered our dessert, we had a choice between cheese cake and pumpkin pie (why go out of your way to be creative during Restaurant Week?). We ordered one of each and also a caramel apple-tini. VERY DISAPPOINTING. The pumpkin pie tasted and looked as though they had bought it at Market Basket, cut it and slopped it on a plate, there wasn't even any whipped cream. The Cheesecake which had obviously been frozen was tastless and had two obviously frozen strawberries on top. Something your would expect to get at Denny's. Finally, the caramel apple-tini, horrible. Again, NO TASTE, not even a hint of caramel or apple, just tini.Overall, I found EJ Cabots to be a big disappointment. You think you would step up your game for Restaurant Week when people are trying new places. I do not believe you will be getting another shot out of us.The reason EJ Cabots squeeks by with two stars (and not one) is because the waitstaff was pleasant.
