It's expensive. It's worth every penny. The ribs are melt in your mouth. You get 2 racks with a (as in one) dinner plate. I promise, it's enough to feed two very hungry people and have some leftover. The brisket sandwich is piled so high with that tender, smokey flavored goodness that you could make another whole sandwich. And don't get me started on that sauce! If you like the vinegar or mustard-y type sauce, this stuff will blow your mind! There's a little sweet to balance, but there's a reason they sell it by the gallon!

Great little BBQ place. The ribs were amazing and the BBQ Beef sandwich was quite good. Would I go back??? Absolutely!

Review №3

The food was excellent , service was great we ate in.They portions are large well worth the price. Check them out highly recommend this establishment.

Review №4

The food was great! We ate here based on a recommendation and it was well worth it. We are not from the area but we will be sure to stop by again and will most definitely have to have some dessert. They all looked divine!

Review №5

Great BBQ and we had great service. Came in for Saturday lunch and had a brisket sandwich, beans, and corn; delicious! Could not get enough of the brisket and the beans. Co worker had the chicken basket and said it was delicious as well. Inside was clean and all the tables etc seemed relatively new. Almost drove right past the place though; the sign for the place is just painted on the wall of the restaurant. Definitely will come back!

Review №6

I thought the ribs were tough and I didn't like the sauce. The service was A+ and so was the awesome dessert. Will try again

Review №7

The restaurant was very clean; almost TOO clean though, as it smelled of Clorox Cleanup. This is a good thing. The only drawback is the smell. I would much rather walk in and smell smoked meat and BBQ sauce. I don't hold this against them as I ate here during the pandemic and understand they have to keep the place as sanitary as possible. Anyways, the beef brisket sandwich was actually very good. I was quite impressed. The corn however was pitiful... overcooked and bland. Disappointing for what they charge for it. I do think they are slightly overpriced, but honestly given the overall quality of food and service, that is even up for debate. The servers were helpful and friendly. Though, I found it a bit offputting that our food came out at significantly different times. I think that everyone at a table should be served simultaneously in a diner-type setting. One last thing. I say this with an air of professionalism, not personal bias. I saw a MAGA sticker while I was in the restaurant. Now let me be clear: I could care less. The only thing that i wish to mention is this: as a small business in a nation that is currently suffering from some of the worst political turmoil in recent decades, I don't think it wise to express any form of favoritism towards a topic as controversial as Ameircan politics; particularly, the presidency. My reason for this is that it gives off the wrong message. A business is a business no matter how localized or "small-town" it is. We can all agree on this, no? Look, I know nothing will change. The owner may or may not read this and will probably think, "freedom of speech. It's my business. I can do whatever I want." And yeah, that's right. But one day, everyone of us may have to answer for what we did or didn't do to make the world a better place. Anything that could cause divisiveness and misunderstanding between others is not it. But, what do I know? I'm just a young man lacking wisdom and understanding. God bless.

1st time here was on March 10 2020. My boyfriend had a work thing in Magnolia Arkansas we were staying at the Holiday Inn. We decided to try this place out and I'm glad we did. The food was amazing and huge portions. We didn't have any room for dessert. Not sure why some reviews talk about racism because we felt Welcomed as soon as we walked in (we are Puerto Rican's) not sure why the bad review. If we are ever in Magnolia again we will definitely be back. The girls at the front running register etc were spectacular and friendly. Keep up the Awesome job!

Review №9

It is worth a 2 hour drive, it's so good!!!

Review №10

Great food fast service for drive threw sit down area still closed

Review №11

Best barbeque I have had in a while. Had the brisket sandwich. The sandwich had a very generous portion of meat. The coconut cream pie was heavenly. Several pie and cheesecake options. Staff were very accommodating

Review №12

Backyard BBQ service is pitiful, i sat and watched 7 different people that ordered after me get served before me. Funny thing is they ordered the same thing I did. Guess it all depends on who you are in this establishment. Will never step foot back in this place again.

Review №13

Plan for a very long wait. And check your drive thru / pick-up order before you leave.

Review №14

It was excellent. Words will not describe the food here. Just go.The place has an unassuming exterior that simply says Backyard Barbecue Co. Inside there are wooden booths to sit at or tables if you prefer. You place your order and pay at the counter then choose your own place to sit. The servers will then bring your food out to you by order number. When you are done, you can ask for a takeout box and the servers will clean the table. The toast is generously buttered and similar to garlic bread. The baked beans were the best I ever had and they did not skimp on the sausage. The ribs were smoked and finished off with sauce. I barely used any sauce for the ribs because they were just that good. The battered onion rings used the largest onions I have ever seen.

Review №15

This is the best food in Arkansas hands down! The portions are huge and you are never disappointed when you leave! I have seen the kitchen numerous times and I'm so impressed by how clean it is! The food is made fresh and is all homemade! The staff, management and owners always go above and beyond for their customers! I highly recommend Backyard BBQ!

Review №16

Ate every last bite! Enjoyed everything I ordered for lunch. Fast service, friendly staff and the food was good. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Review №17

I called ahead waited an hour at the window, they kept asking my number, after an hour they came to the window with the wrong order I waited thirty more mins and then my food was given to me! Order was correct and food was good!

Review №18

Great place for good old fashion barbecue

Review №19

BBQ is always great ! Prices are a little bit high. Beer selection isn't the best . Mugs were frozen which is good. Overall it's a good place to eat. !

Review №20

Excellent food in an Extremely clean dining area. Friendly atmosphere with great service.

Review №21

I am not from Magnolia Arkansas but upon arriving here I saw backyard barbecue and decided to give them a try. The food ended up being decent but the service was terrible. Afterwards I looked at the reviews and I see that the establishment is racist. The funny thing was, I got that vibe while I was there. Needless to say I will not be returning to backyard barbeque. Prejudice = Ignorance!

Review №22

Best Ribs in town!

Review №23

The most amazing BBQ in South Arkansas! Desserts are incredible too. Everything is fresh and full of flavor.

Review №24

Some of the best BBQ in the state as been awarded. Get a slice of banana pudding. Friendly staff and consistently good food all around. You will just about always catch the owners working which speaks a lot for a true family owned business. Backyard BBQ, a magnolia staple.

Review №25

Great food. Their ribs are the best in the state. Definitely not quick. Never have been. But their food is well worth the wait. Favorite restaurant in town.

Review №26

Many years of eating with lots of satisfaction has slowly changed. This evening the baby ribs which usually are succulent and needed no effort to eat. Over done with side beans with more ground meat than beans. A 30 minute wait made it less value for money. Hoping ownership gets a grasp.

Review №27

I was just on a quick visit from CT to see my dad. He took me here for lunch. This is a very friendly, low key place with excellent BBQ. I had the brisket sandwich with slaw and beans, and it was terrific. Large portions, flavorful, and a nice staff serving it all up.

Review №28

All the food was delicious and my God those pies are heaven sent!!!

Review №29

The food is disgusting and overpriced. Rude staff and racist. Don't spend your money here. Definitely not worth the trip. Stand for something or you'll fall for anything! Wish I could give them NO stars!

Review №30

Best BBQ around by far! Don't skip the pie!

Review №31

Always good food and great service.

Review №32

Best ribs ever! Generous portions! Good service! Thank you, Back Yard!

Review №33

Wonderful quaint cozy lil barbecue eatery. The SAU students are usually employed here and are fantastic. The coconut cream pie is to die for. All pies are great but it's my favorite

Review №34

This is one of my favorite places in town to eat. The food is outstanding and the desserts are great. A little on the pricier side but for the amount of food and the quality it's worth it.

Review №35

One of my favorite spots

Review №36

Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful BBQ Big portions of food!¡!

Review №37

Let's not forget the racism in the management at this overpriced place

Review №38

By far THE BEST RIBS I've ever eaten!! So good i ordered a rack three days in a row & still crave them daily

Review №39

Amazing barbeque! It is expensive, so be prepared to spend at least 12 dollars a plate. But it's worth it!

Review №40

I've eaten here twice and they never fail to disappoint. I can always expect overpriced dry food here. I've lived in this town my whole life and have never taken my family here to eat because of the racism circling this establishment.

Review №41

I spent 25 years in Memphis and these ribs are as good as I have had. fabulous food....just fabulous...

Review №42

Good food. Not fast food.

Review №43

Ordered the ribs and rings. A full slab of baby back ribs and onion rings. Both were good. Ribs had a ton of meat on them and were cooked with a sweet glaze. Very good. 3 of us ate on the and were all satisfied.I also tried a slice of their coconut cream pie. I'm going to give it an OK grade. Nothing special. Might have been a little better warm. All in all the experience was worth the drive from El Dorado. You won't be disappointment. (I was told the chopped pork was amazing too)

Review №44

Travelled from Michigan to visit family and we never miss this place when in Magnolia. The food is amazing, staff is great, and the atmosphere is great! We recommend you come here if your looking for good southern barbecue!

Review №45

Parking was free and the building is wheelchair accessible. The building was crowned; however, our group of nine adults and two children were seated together. The meal portions were very generous. The atmosphere was suitable for a college crowd and adaptable to older clientele i.e., us. It was difficult for a member of our group to locate the business from the road. There is limited table service. The employees were courteous and knowledgeable about were courteous and knowledgeable about the menu choices.

Review №46

Best...Ribs...Ever. Absolute must stop when you are within 50 miles of Magnolia. Thank you BYB.

Review №47

It's not cheap and you might have to wait but it's well worth the money and well worth the wait! It's the best barbecue I have ever had especially the ribs. Their pies are homemade and none can compare! Lots of varieties to choose from. I can usually make two meals off of one sandwich plate because they load it with meat!

Review №48

First time eating here! The baked beans were to die for!!! Also, wish I could have sampled each of the desserts. We had the chocolate pecan & we almost had to buy two slices once we took the first bite!! So yummy! Can't wait to be back in town & eat here again!

Review №49

Eat in or take out it is some if the best BBQ anywhere...

Review №50

Very delicious

Review №51

Great food. Friendly staff.

Review №52

Great barbecue, conveniently located with great service!

Review №53

Great tasting food, friendly fast service.

Review №54

We drive 1.5 hrs to eat here. It is the best BBQ in the south. Ribs are phenomenal!! 25 dollars for rib plate, don't let that scare your, it's plenty for 2 people. A pile of ribs. It's so worth it. Love eating here!

Review №55

Best barbeque I've tasted

Review №56

Wonderful for the kids and you're bigger kids too. Peace

Review №57

Best ribs around.

Review №58

The beans are the best.

Review №59

Mannnn okay. so this place is pricey, up front. HOWEVER! It is so incredible. The barbeque is perfect and cooked fresh. Tastes just absolutely amazing. Their sauce is amazing too. They also have incredible pies, like worthy of awards they are so good, I can never go without getting a slice, they just call to you from behind the glass. And they now serve beer and such too which is always a good add on! Must try when you're in town if you like barbeque even a little bit!

Review №60

Great ribs. Loved the beans and banana pudding.

Review №61

Price is a little high, but very good food.

Review №62

The best store bought pork ribs, baked beans, and onion rings I've had. They freeze yesterday's ribs and sell them at very good prices. The fresh ones are the best but it's great to have some of their ribs in the freezer to heat up for a quick, good meal.

Review №63

Fantastic barbeque! As good as it gets! Service sucks whether you eat there or call it in. Don't be in a hurry. It is not a fast food place. Understood. But 2 hours when all you have to do is slap the already prepared meat on a bun? No way. If I'm going to spend that kind of money and time I'll eat at a fine dining establishment with wine, candlelight, and cloth napkins. Very disappointed in the service.

Review №64

Biggest Beef brisket sandwich I've ever eaten! Baked beans & coleslaw excellent, too

Review №65

Disgusting food, tense almost hostile atmosphere, blatant racism toward customers and employees of color. I heard they were good in the past, but I was not impressed when I walked into this establishment. The only 2 good things I experienced at this place was the hospitality of my young black waitress, despite the actions of her so called coworkers and walking out of this horrid establishment. Will not go back

Review №66

The Smoked Turkey sandwich is amazing. I'm always the guy who gets the "weird thing" wherever I go eat. Glad I was feeling like chowing down on some post-thanksgiving-leftovers vibe.

Review №67

Slow service but good food.

Review №68

Some of the best barbeque I've ever eaten.

Review №69

I used to come here all the time and I just came in visiting from Texas. It's not the same. The staff us rude and the food was ok, it was dry and not very flavorful.

Review №70

Food was great as always. The pecan cream cheese pie was excellent

Review №71

Good food. Slow service.

Review №72

Best BBQ I have had! Better then Beale St and Texas BBQ that I have had before. I love the ribs and rings plate. It feeds 3 people easily. Coconut pie is delicious !

Review №73

Not cheap, but the best barbecue in Magnolia, Arkansas. Pick up orders are NOT normally ready at time given.

Review №74

Always great food no matter what you get

Review №75

Really good food but the prices are too high

Review №76

Omgoodness so good and that Lemon icebox pie smh delicious omgoodness its worth the drive

Review №77

Racist employees. Absolutely disgusting.

Review №78

Love the food if you haven't been here its a must! Sometimes the service is slow and sometimes they are quick but its because they are not fast food. Go when you have time to kill and not in a hurry.

Review №79

A must eat if you like bbq. Great ribs and brisket sandwich

Review №80

When I travel through Magnolia, I've got to stop for a piece of homemade pie!

Review №81

Food was delicious. Waitress was awesome.

Review №82

It's a bit of a wait but it's well worth it and if you have room, try their desserts! They are fantastic.

Review №83

Ribs are amazing as well as everything else! Make sure to eat a piece of pie for dessert!

Review №84

Loved the baked beans

Review №85

Fairly good BBQ. Onion rings were bathed in grease. STUPID EXPENSIVE. 2 Chopped beef and one chopped pork sandwiches, FIFTY DOLLARS!!!!!! No wonder they didn't have prices posted.Never going back

Review №86

Great food, poor service

Review №87

Best place for BBQ in Arkansas!

Review №88

The food was delicious! The owner and staff were wonderful! Very impressed!

Review №89

Food was good! All I can say is two bbq sandwiches with onion rings and and two baked potatoes shouldn't cost over $60. That s a trip to the grocery store.

Review №90

Great food and service. Chocolate pie wonderful. ...will return again.

Review №91

Rib s ok long lines kids work there they act like they don't see u in drive thru

Review №92

Awesome food. Homemade. Love the reanch and bbq. And ADORE THE PIES

Review №93

Hugely popular in the Magnolia area, but truthfully the bbq is mediocre. Especially for the ludicrously high prices they charge compared to Crayton's. Ironically enough the star of the show here isn't the barbecue - it's their sides! HUGE mozzarella sticks that are hot and melty and put Sonic's to shame. Well worth their price. Piping hot and crispy fried mushrooms. Delicious homemade whole pies. These overshine the tough, bland, and overpriced bbq, sadly.

Review №94

OK you that have the way to do the last good thanks okay

Review №95

Pork bbq sandwhich!!!!!!

Review №96

Four sandwiches took 1 hour. Food was solid but I've never waited so long for BBQ in my life. The table next to us took an hour plus for a grilled cheese.

Review №97

Has really good flavor and taste which to have smaller portions will be totally awesome hard for one person to eat a rack of ribs

Review №98

The bbq wasn't spicy, but their attitudes were

Review №99

Love this place...really don't go as often as I would like to...great menu with reasonable prices and awesome pies !!!

Review №100

Long wait, decent food. Not worth the wait though.
