Review №1

Service was great. Food was excellent. I will definitely be returning here very soon even though I have to drive across town to get here. A must visit. Oh and 1 more thing...the tacos are fat.

Review №2

Great Mexican food. Servers were all friendly. Was able to find parking across the street.

Review №3

Honest food. Good quality, nothing fancy, nothing beside the order. Food giving you nutritions, vitamins, minerals but not a good emotions.

Review №4

Make sure to get here early! Once you are inside you know you have found a great spot. Awesome staff, iconic feel and the breakfast tacos are on another level.Hand made tortillas (the perfect texture), make the breakfast tacos sing! The salsa had a great kick and paired perfectly with the Chorizo and egg taco! Can't wait to come back next time I am in town!

Review №5

I like coming to this place for my breakfast tacos. The best times to get there are before 10:30 am monday through Saturday, that's when they have there specials on breakfast tacos. The staff is very friendly, they make you feel like your right at home, when you have a frown they will turn it upside down. With there welcoming effects they give there customers. They can be a little costly but what places aren't in this day and age. I highly recommend going to this place.By far the best Mexican food i have had.

Review №6

Super good breakfast tacos. Thick bacon, quality fresh eggs, real cheddar cheese, homemade tortilla, and fresh salsa. Can't wait to order here again!!

Review №7

Service was great! I tried the tacos since it is the name of the place and was not disappointed. Margaritas were pretty good too. Environment was a little strange in my experience. Cops were continuously walking through which seemed a little weird and distracting to me

Review №8

Best tacos I've had in SA. Chorizo and egg was awesome. Go for Thursday happy hour. We fed 3 people with drinks for under $25!

Review №9

Amazing service. Eric is a top notch server. Food was delicious and they have great drink specials. We got a frozen margarita for 3.20. Must visit if you are in San Antonio, you won't regret!!

Review №10

Great service from Erik and Sergio, even though we were their only customers out on the patio. At Erik's recommendation, we had the Poco de Todo appetizer plate, and it had a great selection of very tasty food, with plenty to share. We also had the Thursday special chicken mole enchiladas. The mole sauce had just the right amount of sweetness and smokiness. We'll definitely come here again.

Review №11

Went there after reading good reviews and definitely didn't get disappointed! They offer dine in and take out both have hand sanitizers and the servers wear a mask. We decided to sit outside and was served by Sergio who was amazing. The food here is delicious and with portions big enough for sharing. They start you off with chips and salsa as well. Their menu is extensive and they offer something for everyone including kids menu!

Review №12

In a city like San Antonio, finding a bad taco is hard. To be sure, they are around, but they don't last long and you won't find any on this side of town. That being said, Pete's is good. The tortilla here is very good, it strikes a good balance between fluffy and dense. The shredded chicken was very tasty, although a bit too juicy for me and soaked through the taco before I finished it. The crowning jewel was the chorizo beans and I would come back for that alone, although the normal refried beans were lacking in seasoning. All in all, these are good tacos, a little too expensive for not being exceptional in any real discernable way, but I would come back. Like I said this is a hard town for tacos and the fact this place has been here so long proves they are good. 7/10 would eat again

Review №13

Ordered the chorizo and egg plate. The chorizo and egg was a different color than I've usually seen and didn't look good at all. It was a light red and parts of it were cold. I barely touched it. The beans and potatoes were ok. The tortillas were the only good thing.

Review №14

The food was delicious and they probably have the best tasting rice... Will definitely be back. Our server was so nice and accommodating!

Review №15

There was a really long wait to get in and then when we got in, there were a lot of empty tables, even accounting for social distancing that did not justify the wait. Took a long time to get our food and the extra taco ti go took about 20-25 min. That being said, the carne guisada tacos and sopapillas were incredible. Will visit again when in the area....if the wait is not too bad.

Review №16

Very popular greasy spoon in the downtown area. It is a small, hidden Tex Mexican eatery where you can try local flavors and not feel penniless. Enjoy favorites like enchiladas, fajitas, carne guisada plates and other traditional favorites. It may seem busy, but the hostess will get you a table right away. Open evenings Thursday thru Saturdays for those evening meals. Take the edge off with a frozen margarita or Mexican Cerveza.

Review №17

Waited in line for 15+ minutes to pickup my order that was already paid for... I got 2 chz enchiladas and the red tortillas were hard, also got 2 bacon egg potato cheese tacos and they skimped on the cheese big time. The flour tortilla on the tacos were great though, fluffy, only reason I give 2 stars instead of 1. Disappointing and expensive ($12)

Review №18

Had a deliouse breakfast with my family on the patio of there's. The tacos are huge and the food is great, not to mention our wonderful waitress Magda! She kept us going with wonderful service and sweet hospitality...I can't wait to come back!

Review №19

By far the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in San Antonio. They have the best charro beans I've ever eaten. I've tried many places that have charro beans and none compare to these! Everything was delicious and I will definitely come back again!

Review №20

A preferred spot for tasty Mexican food. Everyone at our table was enjoying everything. The place has a great feel to it. They have so many good reviews for a reason.

Review №21

We were looking for our last stop breakfast meal on our way out of San Antonio. We are so glad we found this spot. It was definitely the perfect breakfast! Machacado was excellent and the migas was perfect. Coffee was really good too. Their flour tortillas are deliciously homemade for sure. The atmosphere was cozie, restroom clean, and the music was low and not too loud.

Review №22

Great local spot. Super down to earth with good local atmosphere. We got the puffy tacos and they were fantastic!! The lemon aguas frescas was delicious and refreshing after a hot San Antonio day.

Review №23

Mexican food, so good. Great place to meet and catch up with friends. It has a cool feel to it. Feels like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed visiting.

Review №24

Mexican food, yeah, my preferred treat. Food was so delicious. Staff treated us so nice. Prices are appropriate for the quality. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I liked.

Review №25

We googled tacos near by & came up with Pete's. Overall service was fast I didn't have to wait long for a to-go order. There was parking & the atmosphere had a good energy. I gave it four stars because on the bean & cheese tacos there were beans coming out the foil & so I'd say the ratio of bean & cheese wasn't portioned. Also the bacon would be better chopped inside the taco instead of the strip but then again this is all preference. I received napkins, straws & hot sauce without asking. Awesome!

Review №26

I'm not a regular but I've been going to Pete's taco House. When it was on Lexington and North Main I like the new place great job the new building use to be a gay bathhouse those were the days anyway the food is delicious tortillas fresh good portions HOT food staff very friendly and place plenty of room tables not on top of each other very clean good work PTH I'll be back more often

Review №27

The best Tex Mex food I ever have! The flour tortillas were amazing the plate barbacoa and egg was really delicious!

Review №28

Good Mexican food and fast service. Chips and salsa was also fresh which is always a good start. Baracoa plate was pretty good. I added an egg on top which made it awesome with with beans and potatoes.

Review №29

Delicious Puffy Tacos, tortilla chips and salsas and horchata! Fun atmosphere and excellent service.

Review №30

First time here and definitely not the last. Wow! Family tried the puffy tacos, Un poquito de todo, Carne guisada, and the picadillo. Their ground beef meat recipe is on point. Will not disappoint. To top it off, the service is excellent

Review №31

Great food. Large selection of menu items. Short wait times. Large portions. Barbacoa was awesome here. Will definitely be back.

Review №32

This place is amazing !! Coming from Houston to San Antonio me and my wife KNOW a good breakfast taco when we see one. And this is one of the best places we have ever eaten at. If I could give them 7 stars I would and BTW the service is just as good as the food !!!

Review №33

A preferred spot for tasty Mexican food. great place to relax, people watch, eat good food or all the above. certainly worth going back to. this place has a good feel to it. menu is similar to a restaurant in jacksonville i liked.

Review №34

The front desk lady at Gibbs hotel recommended this place. It was a 12 minute walk from the riverwalk but worth it.

Review №35

Puffy tacos had no flavor, we had beef and chicken. They fell apart and were soggy.1 napkin for 2 people,4 tacos and queso. Queso was good!

Review №36

Fine scene for delicious mexican food. Service is awesome even when they are busy. Service is consistently good. This place has a good design. I can see why they have a lot of positive reviews.

Review №37

The flour tortillas are amazing! The takos are big and very filled! Huevos Rancheros plate was great and also the Puffy Takos plate was great! The puffy takos were big. If you are getting a plate I would not suggest sides as there is so much to eat! I am definitely going back. I give this restaurant a 4/5 to 5/5!

Review №38

I have no Idea how this Place has 4.4 star rating... I went today just as arrived to San Antonio, Since the moment we got sat It was Horrible service and everything in general, Dirty bathrooms floors . They sat us in a far Coner, they took at least 5 minutes greet us and never brought us Chips or salsa every table had some except us. The serve had no Idea about the food and saw her only when she brought us the drinks and to give us the ticket! Normally dont try to complain unless the experience was super bad! The food was ok, I order Barbacoa and they give me a plate with bbq sauce all mix in on some meat! I order Flour tortillas and they never came out the Menudo was just like red soup Mix no flavor at all, The Machacado was the only thing decent. If I could give only 1/2 A star I would. I definitely do not recommend at all.

Review №39

I rarely give 5 stars for service unfortunately how Sergio was exceptional he really made my day so friendly and polite I could actually see his smile through his mask. He read my mind and really seemed to enjoy serving us very genuine it was refreshing. The food was great too.Thank you Sergio!

Review №40

Excellent place for delicious mexican food. Entered near nine, it wasn't busy. The service was very friendly and kind. The bill was good for what you get.

Review №41

Good food and atmosphere, professional service, reasonable prices, close to the Alamo. Careful with Corvid (but no temperature checking).

Service was great. Food was ok. Now would I go back? Probably not. However, service was really great.

Review №43

Excellent food and great service. I will definitely be back.

Review №44

Excellent food, the tortillas were delicious as well as the food. The carne guisada wasn't what I expected it to be, but was still satisfactory. I would recommend this place and would return.

Review №45

Fast service. Loved the short order menu. Staff was great!!

Review №46

Mexican food and the scene here is super good. Everyone at our table was very satisfied. Service is typically great. Menu is like a place in Miami I enjoyed

Review №47

Food and service were amazing! Super busy place but fast! The street tacos were our favorite, but everything was good. Perfect spot to grab breakfast before hitting the 7 hour ride home, unless you don't want to drive in a food coma!

Review №48

Great tasting food. When the tortillas are fresh and taste really good, you know you found a good restaurant! The breakfast tacos are awesome.

Review №69

Pete's Tako will get a 5 stars from me any day. Tako is great. Always start with the "fried tiny sliced beef Tako with the tiny corn soft tako pocket, with some little extras on the top" thank me later

Review №70

Awesome taco spot for the family. Huge tacos so you really only need one. The wait was a little long but it was so worth it. They also have awesome micheladas.

Review №71

Review №72

The service was great and the food was awesome gorditas and margaritas were great . First time and it was delicious

Review №73

Fast and friendly service! They are sitting people inside the dinning area, and the bar area is pretty awesome too!

Review №74

Okay, this place is actually very good! I was very skeptical about eating here. I've heard that the carné guisada tacos are very good, that the enchiladas are great, and that the puffy tacos are excellent! Well, yeah, you tend to hear a lot of that here in San Antonio! But, this time it's true! I took a picture of each of the things that I was told to try at this place, and it was good! So, don't be afraid and take a chance. Come and try this place out! Oh, a little side note, depending on the time of day that you arrive at, or the size of the group that you are with, there might be a good chance that you will have to wait to be seated. But, I personally think that it's worth the wait!

Review №75

It's been difficult to find a place open to actually sit down and enjoy a meal since being on the road. But this place is amazing, the best customer service! And the food was phenomenal! Thank you

Review №76

The absolute best Tex Mex food we've ever had and the service was amazing as well thank you

Review №77

Theres a wait of about 25 to 45 minutes but, if they know you and you are a regular .. I am assuming faster seating. Anyways.. ordered our drinks... and they tasted very bland like they hadn't switch the bag. Moving on to food I ordered the chicharon taco and barbacoa taco were they both were bland with absolutely no flavor.. no onions or cilantro or pico de gallo.. plain chicharon taco and plain Barboca tacos... naked... basically. Server was very rude. Would not recommend.

Review №78

Food and service was great. Big portions and good price.

Review №79

Great food and great service would definitly go back...

Review №80

Review №84

SO GLAD I found this place. They truly have some of the best food I've ever had. We couldn't decide what to get and the waitress told us everything is good, and she was right. Everything was great. They have the best tortillas I've ever had, and their flavors are perfect. I can't wait to come back

Review №85

I hate that I can't get barbacoa during the week, but everyone knows the good places only serve barbacoa on weekends.

Review №86

This is a cute little humble Taco and Menudo spot. It gets really busy but the service is expedious. I came to this spot specifically to try their Menudo, which was tasty. I ended up ordering a Barbacoa Taco and omg, it was so delicious; not greasy like most places. Their Queso and Chips are really good too; you can tell everything is homemade. It's you're in DTSA, go check it out!

Review №87

Had to wait a little while, but it was worth the wait. Fresh flour tortillas. The chicharron and bean tacos, bacon and egg taco and chorizo and egg taco were spot on. Along with the great customer service. Next time in San Antonio, we will definitely come back to this place. Very well kept.

Review №88

I had breakfast tacos, not bad. They were basic but homemade flour tortillas we're good and the place is very casual with great service. I gave it 3 stars because I think there are definitely better things to order from the menu than breakfast tacos. Yelp reviews shoes a Puffy Taco which looks great!

Review №89
