Forester Restaurant and Tavern

Review №1

Danielle is the best waitress! We love it when she has our table. She is a pro. I always get the same thing - chicken cordon bleu. I usually try a bite of whatever my husband is having and it's always good, but it just can't compete with the chicken cordon bleu.

Review №2

Great service lot's of food for the money we had the prime rib and it came out like we ordered it will go again

Review №3

Wow, what a hidden little gem! We came across it due to downed trees on the main road and were so happwe had to make the detour. Can't wait to take the rest of our family and friends to this cool restaurant!

Review №4

Love this place! The employees are all like family. Great service and great food! Best chicken wings ever!

Review №5

Had blackened Delmonico steak, wonderful.

Review №6

Best burger and fries anywhere around here ....and THE BEST seafood chowder in Grunderville. You will enjoy!

Review №7

Excellent patio atmosphere in the woods. The food and service were great. Our server Brooke was fantastic. Make the drive out to the Forester. We will surely come again.

Review №8

What a great place! The staff was so good and soooooo friendly!

Review №9

The food is wonderful. You never leave hungry. The atmosphere is great.

Review №10

Delmonico steak is delicious!!! Do yourself a favor... Eat here and get your steak blackened!!!Excellent wait staff!!!

Review №11

Very nice and comfortable atmosphere. Stuffed mushrooms were ok but not much seafood flavor and the jalapenos made it too spicy for some of the group. The ribeye with fries was delicious and so was the seafood Alfredo! Our server was friendly accommodating. Produces are very reasonable. We will definitely be back.

Review №12

Beautiful out of the main stream place. Great food and service . A place you will want to make a regular stop.

Review №13

Comfortable environment, friendly staff with good service & excellent food! Thanks!!

Review №14

Great food, great service, got food quickly. Will visit again

Review №15

Not easy to find, you may need some local assistance. The food, drink and atmosphere are great. Strongly recommended if you are in the area.

Review №16

Always a good meal here! Last minute reservation accommodated for anniversary.

Review №17

Excellent food and wonderful staff. The chicken sandwich was amazing.

Review №18

The food is very good and alot of it. A bit pricey. The last two times I was there with friends or family, was very disappointed at the long wait for our food. It shouldn't take 1 - 1. 1/2 hrs to get food no matter how busy. Plus people that had waited at door for seating were served long before us and had left. We had reservations. I guess it's all in who you know. Not sure if I'd go back.

Review №19

Showed up on a fall Saturday and they were obviously very very busy. It's a pretty area and it's nestled next to a Babbling Brook and a bunch of trees. Not expecting the onslaught of customers, the waitress was clearly overwhelmed but she had a fantastic attitude and smile and personality that we didn't mind waiting. We waited outside with the sound of a small creeks near us and music playing on some high quality speakers outside at a very reasonable level. We got our salad and our chicken wraps and the food was good and the atmosphere was great. I would give 5 Stars if they had extra help in the dining room.

Review №20

Not a fan of the seating in the dining room, but food is delicious.

Review №21

Delicious food! Always busy when me and my family go. If you are a larger party it's always a good idea to make reservations on fridays and Saturdays or you will have to wait to be seated. It's always packed.

Review №22

There are not enough great things to say about this restaurant! Amazing atmosphere, great food, excellent service. Do yourself a favor and sit on the patio near the stream on a beautiful day. The menu is varied and unique, and our group of four didn't order anything that wasn't delicious. Perogies, wings, burgers, liver and onions, and chicken sandwich all exceeded expectations...and the BEST onion rings I've ever had! If you are in the area, don't miss this gem!

Review №23

Perhaps I came in at the wrong time. Burger was overcooked, server forgot the onion rings, and there was no offer of a refill for my empty beverage. Atmosphere was nice and the service was friendly, though.

Review №24

Got the DelMonico Steak with perogies. It was awesome! It twas cooked perfectly and the service was very friendly. I also got the pretzel sticks and they were great! I definitely would go back!

Review №25

The food is all wonderful, but it's a little cramped. The general mood is very family friendly, and the options are quite varied. I've had the spaghetti and a few of the burgers and they were both pretty good.

Review №26

Great food. We try to get there once a month. Always a good crowd.

Review №27

Always great food and friendly service!

Review №28

The atmosphere is great. The food was good and service this Saturday evening left a little to be desired. They had 2 large parties of 15+ and the waitstaff seemed "distracted" enough by this that it took almost an hour to get our meals! The kitchen appeared to be overwhelmed also. Not the standard we're used to at this great establishment.

Review №29

Chicken breast was not great, but perogies were amazing. Great atmosphere as well.

Review №30

Great food. Nice rustic decor. Great people working there. The prime rib was amazing as well as the AWESOME seafood salad. The seafood salad had huge scallops, shrimp and crab. Really!!!???!!! In the middle of rural PA!!!!

Review №31

The Cajun Prime Rib Was Excellent! The Bear Paw Dessert Is Too! It' s Big Enough For Two People! I Highly Recommend This Cozy Cabin Restaurant!

Review №32

Delicious food friendly waitresses

Review №33

The restaurant itself was charming. We placed our order but by the time we got our food it was almost an “hour” and there were not many people inside. The one hamburger was served rare (after cutting it in half to check). It was sent back but unfortunately, it somehow was then given to the other person at our table who had ordered a hamburger medium rare & sliced in half. That hamburger, of course, was returned again!! By the time all of our food arrived and we ate, it was over 2 hours-definitely a miscommunication with waitresses and the kitchen!?!?!?? I think it'll be a while before we go back again..

Review №34

Was not impressed. Took a long time to get our food when the place was not even busy. Ordered an over priced burger that was not done at all to the way I ordered it, and the french onion soup was so salty it was not edible. Waitress was nice and the place was cool but the food was terrible. I was extremely disappointed, especially for what it cost my wife and I. Will not return.

Review №35

Great atmosphere, great staff, good food

Review №36

Great food and service. Very nice place.

Review №37

I love the forester we take a nice ride through the woods and go have a nice meal !! Great place !

Review №38

Great chicken picatta

Review №39

This is a great restaurant in Warren. They serve the typical pub food as well dinners. The place is clean and well kept. They can get busy but lunchtime is a great time to get some good food and sit outside to enjoy a nice day.

Review №40

Ordered the Blackened Prime Rib with Garlic Shrimp. Had Onion Rings and Stuffed Mushrooms as an Appetizer. Everything was Great. The Dirty Arnold Palmer Cocktail was Amazing. Really Nice and Cozy Atmosphere with Very Friendly Staff. If you haven't been there, I suggest you go.

Review №41

Cozy atmosphere, waitresses are very accommodating. Clean and food is very good!

Review №42

Nice place. The food was good as was the service. I had the Western Burger. It was cooked perfectly. The bun was fresh as were the toppings. The french fries were fresh cut and perfectly crisp. The dill pickle was delicious and a nice touch. I'll go back next time I'm in the area.

Review №43

Great place. Good food and great people. Thanks for the good times.

Review №44

Amazing jewel in the rough... Great great atmosphere, attentive servers. Food was simple and delicious. Jeff's seafood chowder should be famous!

Review №45

Loved the steak. Service perfect.

Review №46

Good food and atmosphere priced right big portions

Review №47

Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Prime rib was the best.

Review №48

We love this place because it is out of the way, and cozy, yet close to Warren. Staff is always friendly and professional. They never skimp on drinks:) Portions

Review №49

Great food, friendly staff

Review №50

The best burgers, prime rib, delmonicos, and flat irons in the quad county area. Ever dish here is amazing from surf to the turf. The best fish fry to and all very generous portions

Review №51

Great food and staff

Review №52

The chicken cordon bleu was amazing..

Review №53

Great atmosphere in a rural setting. Wonderful menu and the food is spectacular. Wait staff is attentive and polite. They don't rush you and appreciate your business.

Review №54

Always a great place to have dinner.Sometimes it's a bit noisy so my post is one star short. There's always more than enough to eat.I tend to bring home a box...LOL!

Review №55

Friendly atmosphere. Good for casual date or family dinner. Pricing $$. Good at accommodating gluten free.

Review №56

The pan fried chicken wings are always an awesome meal. Pair that with a good selection of Southern Tier brews and you've got compete satisfaction! Great atmosphere and always a friendly staff.

Review №57

My wife and I were in town for the evening and found this place listed as a wing joint with low prices. IT IS NOT. They serve fish frys, prime rib, and other American foods, but not at a cheap price.I ended up getting the fish. The french fries were home-made, but soggy. The fish was good, but something was leaving an actual bad taste in my mouth like what you might get if you ate right after brushing your teeth. Might have been the raspberry ice tea. The waitress didn't bring me the applesauce that should have came with my meal. (I didn't complain to her about that as I didn't want it anyways)The waitress never came back to check on us until we sat for awhile with empty plates for awhile. When she finally did, we ordered a dessert and the check. She brought the dessert but not the check.I wanted to like this place as it was decorated nicely and even had heated outdoor areas, as well as seeming popular with the locals. However, we left feeling like our money would have been better spent someplace else.

Review №58

Chicken Cordon Bleu, Sweet Potato Fries, Perogies, beer, friends, bartenders, waiters, etc. They're all good. Limited menu, but they give variety through good specials. Sometimes have live music like Co. Townes

Review №59

Limited hours, but they make the most of it. They're open only four days a week, and usually dinner only. On Fridays and Saturdays, they're open at noon. Good menu choices and a decent selection of bar drinks, beer and wine. No real premium wine or beer selection, but what they have is good for about 95 percent of patrons. Parking can be a challenge as lot is small and many dinners on weekends especially. Cars are often parked well up the road and on side road with a walk. Not bad, as you're going to want to walk off a little bit of the good food and huge deserts.

Review №60

A unique setting with flare! Excellent food and service. One of my absolute favorites.

Review №61

Bang bang shrimp are amazing!

Review №62

Absolutely delicious food, adequately staffed on a busy day, very pleasant and friendly employees. And, you are 'oh so close' to the beautiful 500+ acre Allegheny National Forest. You're nutz not to give this restaurant a try (at the very least).

Review №63

Very good food pretty place, nice drive there and back through the woods of p.a.

Review №64

Latest find, just off the main drag route 6. Large servings for hungry folks. My burger cooked just right. My friends prime rib made me jealous, thick cut too. We all had take out containers with a snack for later. Good stop. First time there.

Review №65

Nice atmosphere, over priced food. Not terrible, just nothing to brag about. Service was friendly.

Review №66

What a great place to eat! I had chicken picatta and my husband had the fried fish dinner. Both meals were great and we have lunch for tomorrow.

Review №67

Country style aumbeance, Good food and decent prices make this a great place to eat.

Review №68

Awesome atmosphere, super friendly staff and delicious food! Nommmm!!

Review №69

Great atmosphere and excellent food! Love these gems that are off the beat and path. You won't be disappointed with this find!

Review №70

Review №71

Very accommodating.. Great food .. Reasonable prices

Review №72

Arrive at 4:20 place not packed two people at bar and four tables in dinning room in use. We r a party of 4. Waitress said it will be a minute they need to clean a table they took r name. We sit at bar got ourselves a drink while waiting and waiting we let waitress know we r going out to smoke area. During this time it starts filling up so w go in to ask about r table now 5:00. They sat someone else at the table we waited 40 mins for. 10 mins later they seat us. It took waitress almost 20 mins to bring our new drinks to us at the table. We ordered at this time r appetizer and dinner. It took hour and 45 mins to get just r appetizer that came burnt. Then r meals come 2 mins later. The meals looked like they where sitting for awhile and just mirowaved to warm up. The prime rib was so dry u could not chew it and so salty it burned ur mouth of salt, no a jus was provided, veg's where ice cold, no drink refills, waitress never around, my sister's specialty drink was so nasty she asked to have it returned and to just have water. Nothing we ordered was cooked right or provided within a reasonable time! I was so embrassed to have invited my sister her husband to this usually awesome restaurant.Over $130 bill to take home and feed the dogs. Truly sad how poorly ran it was and how disorganized it was. Not sure we will be back.Arrived at 4:20 never seated till after 5:00. Never served r dinners till after 7:00 just to get burnt, dried out, and cold food...

Review №73

Great food, pleasant service and great location! I can say the prime steak open-facec sandwich was awesome!

Review №78

Great food, good prices, could stand hiring more employees; our 1 waitress also tending bar although she did move quickly for 1 person.

Review №79

Great food and great fun. Worth the drive out into the woods.

Review №80

Very nice atmoshere, love the decor, bartender needed to be a little more personable, although she has only been there for 3 weeks. Food was good.

Review №81

Love the Forester. Staff is always happy. Food is delicious. Nice hidden place back in the woods.

Review №82

Great food and atmosphere. Reasonable pricing with friendly service. Great time everytime.

Review №83

Food was decent enough, but the prices seemed a bit steep

Review №84

The atmosphere and quality of food and service was top notch.

Review №85

Fantastic open prime rib sandwiches on Friday at $12. Very flavorful and good portions.

Review №86

Wait staff very nice, food pretty good (but kind of hit or miss), music too loud which makes it hard to converse.

Review №87

Very comfortable, quaint, good food at reasonable prices!

Review №88

Outstanding food... no draft beer... no cell phone reception on either of the two major carriers (VZ or ATT) but that might be a good thing since you should concentrate on who you're with not an LCD screen. Try the prime rib, you won't be disappointed!

Review №89

Great food at great prices.
