Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in Rhode Island. I can honestly say I've never have anything bad here. They feature a constantly changing menu with seasonal options sourced from local farms/fishmongers/pasta shops etc, but somehow from the shellfish to steak to pastas and salads are always incredibly executed and unique. It's also a great spot if you're looking for some appetizers and cocktails. Nothing like sitting outside with some duck tacos, fresh local raw oysters and the "Walrus and Carpenter" oyster brine martini. So good.

Wonderful, fresh local food, served with creativity and care. Great service as well. And you must try the daily shrub - one of the best drinks I've ever had!

Review №3

Fantastic experience! I made my reservation online through Resey and didn't get a confirmation by text or email so I called to confirm and despite the disappearance of the reservation the hostess kindly squeezed us in. The house pickles were the biggest surprise. Homemade pickles from various vegetables. Delish! Oysters, scallops and sea bass were superb. Great service too. Thank you Bywater! We'll be back.

I stopped, while walking with my dog Zoe, to enjoy the sunset in the bright veranda outside Bywater on Sunday. We enjoyed ( I shared a few with her) little necks steamed in butter, garlic, and herbs with toasted sourdough. I ordered a margarita to toast the setting sun and called it a wonderful ending of my day!

Review №5

I loved my meal here. From the drink suggestions to the apps to the main meal. It was my first time here and I will certainly come back. Just being here and sharing a meal makes you feel like a local. Thank you so much for this experience!

Review №6

Excellent food and exceptional service. We ate on the heated patio and it was great! I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.

Review №7

I may be biased but amazing food, beautiful outdoor dining during COVID, excellent beverage selection, and the crew are some of nicest people you will ever meet. bywater (with the lowercase B) is one of the best dining experiences you will get in the town of Warren, RI.

Review №8

Fantastic food, very friendly service

Review №9

We had our rehearsal dinner at Bywater and it was an incredible experience! We worked very closely with the owners to customize our food and drink menu for the evening. They were fantastic to work with and had lots of good ideas. The food was absolutely outstanding and all of our guests raved about it all weekend! So many of our guests plan to come back on their own. The Staff at Bywater was so friendly and accommodating and truly felt like friends by the time we left at the end of the evening. (A special shout out to the incredible bartender, Andrew!) They were kind and celebratory and we are grateful to them for treating our guests so warmly and kindly! The atmosphere at Bywater is cozy and inviting--everything is well-thought-out and intentional. From the location to the decor to the menu to the Staff, it was an incredible experience for us and our guests. Thank you, thank you Bywater!

Review №10

Cute restaurant with a tasteful interior decoration. But the best part is the food. I had the grilled green peppers, the steak entree, and Turkish coffee and everything was perfectly delicious. It is a joy to visit a restaurant that provides really excellent quality dishes. Highly recommended.

Review №11

Best restaurant in NE. This is THE CLOSEST you can come to eating at Joe Beef in Montreal without actually eating at Joe Beef. Staff, awesome! Atmosphere, awesome! Drinks, awesome! Food........unreal!

Review №12

First time visiting and it won't be the last. The Hostess took us to our table as soon as we step in the door, surprising as the restaurant was busy. The atmosphere was a step above casual meaning you could wear denim but without holes. My husband had the strawberry lemonade (perfectly balanced) and I had a vodka & tonic. With this we ordered the cheese board which was a meal in itself. The selections of cheeses, breads and garnishes were brilliant. For dinner we shared the rib eye for two. The meat was done to our specification and there was a pile of it. The sides were expertly done, the fingerlings were in a light sauce and the veggies were in season, cooked and seasoned to perfection. For dessert my husband had the Turkish coffee with ice cream and I had the chocolate cake, both were excellent. The price for this feast was moderate. Our waiter was a model for all waiters. Attentive but not hovering and answered all our questions right away which meant he knew the menu well. Will we be going back? Heck yeah! If I could I would eat there every day.

Review №13

Outstanding! Went here in Feb on a Saturday night with my wife. Everything we had was excellent. Entrees run $25-$30 but they have several apps/small plate options if you don't want to spend that much. Note that the menu is seasonal. Tons of drink and wine options. They had a few beers on draft and many options in bottle/cans at varying prices for all tastes. They offer housemade ice creams and other desserts.I had the cassoulet (pictured), wife had the bolognese. We also shared the brussels and seafood chowder which were great as well. All in all if you want a nice quiet restuarant with gourmet scratch cooking look no further.Lastly, restaurant is small and gets booked so I recommend making reservations either online or call to check.

Review №14

Absolutely phenomenal; sincerely the best restaurant experience I've had in a long while. Our waitress was stellar: conversational, attentive, not overbearing, knowledgeable, and eager to help. The food was spectacular. This restaurant really makes a commitment to blending unexpected flavors and cuisines that I did not expect to go well at all- and consistently they nailed it. Their muscles in coconut milk with Thai basil were the hands down best I've ever had: cooked to tender perfection with a fabulous creamy broth and well buttered toast to sop it up. The swordfish itself had a very gentle flavor, but the miso broth, kale and vegetables had such a bold flavor that complemented. And the coffee ice cream made in house was an excellent end to our meal. Fabulous upon fabulous.

Review №15

Great food. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service. This place rocks!

Review №16

Bywater is a fairly new restaurant to the Warren food scene. A small menu contains well thought-out, seasonally available foods along with some favorote all time ingredients. The drink selection is excellent, one such example being the organic blanco tequila having an almost crisp flavor. The drink special menu is small, but are not just mixes of sugared flavor syrups. The recipes and ingredients seem as if the bartender who chose them has a vast understanding of the subtle nuances of various tastes.Protip: Pick a day where you know it is sunny outside. You'll have the chance to really enjoy a sunrise over a scenic neighborhood with some visible waterfront.Another protip: get the house pickles. It's 3 bucks, and they are pickles. I did. It was worth it!

Review №17

One of the best meals I've had in the region. Lots of big flavors and inventive dishes perfectly executed. Bywater is a hidden gem. Great apps. Great drinks. Great desserts. And perfect entrees. Really a great experience.

Review №18

Food was good. Prices are a bit steep for what you get.

Review №19

Waiter was attentive. Hostess was nice. I had the duck tacos which were really good. Very messy to eat tho. I will be back.

Review №20

Seriously love this place, but their food often seems to have a "fear of commitment"; as in committing to a single flavor. Take the roasted bone marrow; it isn't allowed to just be itself. It was served with a variety of ingredients on and around it in (inexplicably) a sauce. Marrow doesn't need adornment. This is what happens when you add complexity to something so simple.

Review №21

Beautiful place!! The duck tacos are out of this world! We'll definitely go back

Review №22

Excellent food phenomenal service, will definitely be returning

Review №23

Bywater has never let us down, while you may have to wait a little, I believe this is true for any restaurant of this quality. My wife and I love the rotating menu, duck tacos are a must try. We also enjoy the creative cocktail menu. Looking forward to the autumn menu!

Review №24

Great oysters Large portions of well preparedFood. Warm welcoming wait staff. A Plus

Review №25

The food was very good and the staff was very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Review №26

Good food, the walrus & the carpenter is one of the best cocktails I've had. Last time I went, I found steel wool in my corn soup hence the 3-star rating.

Review №27

Food is delicious and atmosphere is relaxing

Review №28

Very good food, just shy of excellent this time. Halibut was slightly drier than I'd have liked, but the sauce with it was delicious. If the fish was a little more moist, I would have given 5 stars. We will try again. Service was great, food presentation was great.

Review №29

It took us a while living here before trying this place and I am so mad about it. They have the best tacos I've had in the area. I didn't have anything here that I didn't like. The cocktail menu could use some work but seriously everything is amazing

Review №30

We went Sunday night April 7. First visit. During restaurant week and we selected from the special menu fixe. Some dishes were nice, notably the trout pâté. I was served stuffed eggplant that the kitchen forgot to cook. Well salted and hatched with grill marks, it was uncuttable and uneatable. I sent it back with excellent service from the waitstaff. And another arrived 25 minutes later, equally uncooked. I gave up and ordered the cheese plate for the last course. Three local cheeses, two were excellent but one was bitter from a faulty curing of the cheese. I conclude no one is checking the quality of the food. Service remained excellent, with sound wine recommendations. We left disappointed and my dinner companion was ill through the night from the port with little clams stew he ordered. A singular evening. Go for the wine and the raw oysters but I don't recommend anything from the chefs.

Review №31

Andrew the bartender is a gentleman and very top of the heap. Great guy and restaurant. Very happy with my evening there

Review №32

We stopped at Bywater after a not so good dinner experience at another restaurant...Bywater saved our evening with an excellent chocolate tort and a wonderful Turkish coffee...the people there were just delightful...we are planning to return soon for dinner.

Review №33

Amazing menu and flavors. You can't leave without trying the ice cream sampler. All home made fresh

Review №34

We just dropped in for a drink and dessert, but even just from that, it's clear this place has a point of view to share and envelopes to push. Our drinks were excellent. Dessert was creative and well executed. Service was attentive. Looking forward to going back for dinner soon...

Review №35

Nice little place near the water. Drove out from Providence on a recommendation that the oysters we're the best in RI. The oysters wee very good! Best is debatable ;) Service was super slow, but it may just be that kind of restaurant.

Review №36

I wish we lived close by. We would be there at least once a week. This is a very enthusiastic 5 stars for food, service and ambiance. They've got the whole package!

Review №43

Special and definitely worth giving a shot.

Review №44

This restaurant is so great! Not your average slop it down, rush em out type of place. They take great care in the preperation and presentation of their food, everything is so creative and different than any other rhode island restaurant, and Andrew is the best waiter I have had in a long, long time, best wishes guys, keep up the good work, Steve Dennis

Review №48

YUM!Shared a bunch of appetizers that were original and delicious. The pudding chômeur dessert brought me back to my youth in Quebec. Can't wait to go back.

Review №49

Food was wonderful, service was outstanding. It's a little pricey, but worth it!

Review №50

The food was pretty good but it was a little expensive and the seating environment was somewhat cramped. But if you don't mind all that then I would suggest this place.

Review №51

Fantastic place! Easily one of the best restaurants in the NE. Great atmosphere, staff, food and drinks.

Review №52

Service is excellent and food is a delight. While slightly pricey it more than makes up for it with its charm and sublimity.

Review №53

Amazing flavor if you are able to pay the price

Review №54

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. Dog friendly patio, the best revolving drink menu, and buck-a-shuck Mondays!

Review №62

The food is fantastic! The drinks are better! If you're an oyster lover, this is a must try.

Review №63

Great location and great staff. a lovely place for a romantic night out.

Review №64

Been there twice with larger groups. The service was standoffish and our meals were inconsistent. Atmosphere is great, but the pork tenderloin was though and my scallops had an odd sauce and bland red rice with them. Not sure if I'm willing to give it another try.
