The Nigerian food I enjoyed at Secret Recipe was outstanding. But wow, was it spicy (hot)! Certainly it cleared my nostrils and sinuses. What was interesting, as I recall, was that rather than the meat being spicy, and the rice being mild, it was the opposite: the bed of rice carried so much flavor and spice, and while the meat was indeed quite tender and flavorful, in terms of "heat," it was mild in comparison to the rice.It was our first visit, and the young man working there was most helpful and explanatory. Unfortunately I don't recall his name, but he made sure to help me choose a dish at or within a spice level I could tolerate; I also had a choice of about three different meats (e.g., beef, pork, chicken) to pair with the rice.
