Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. had a friend come into town and she asked me to take her here again. the bill was appropriate.

Review №2

Nice place. Spacious with a variety of seating. The food was good. Dessert was better. We went on a Saturday night at around 10 and the place was pretty much empty of other patrons besides a few at the bar and hotel guests coming in. Nice server.

Review №3

Great location to meet with friends. Looking forward to coming back with my coworkers. Prices were appropriate.

Review №4

The staff was very helpful and observant. This place has a great atmosphere. This place has great reviews for a reason.

Review №5

Great fresh food, great service!

Review №6

Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. The service here is outstanding.

Review №7

There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. It has a cool interior.

Review №8

The prices are steep, and they need more comfort food. The food they do have is good though! The staff is always amazing and helpful every single time my husband and I eat there! Which is often!

Review №9

What a find! Fabulous Christmas Day brunch with expansive menu options. Excellent service, pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The complimentary, decorated cookies were a really nice surprise.

Review №10

The food was outstanding! We went for lunch and had no wait, a great cocktail, amazing lunch, and awesome service. I would definitely come here again.

Review №11

Loved it! Loved it! Food was great! Staff was GREAT! Cooks/ Chefs excellent and Friendly! Came from our hotel to eat everyday there!

Review №12

Im enormously in "love" with this downtown eatery. Every. Damn. Time I go there I enjoybthe food and ambience immensely and often wish I could eat there more often. Red Roost, please bring back no charge valet service! If you arent out in an hour parking costs 17 dollars or something similar.

Review №13

You guys have always been good. I got your brisket tacos tonight and they were actually gristle tacos. Had to spit out the meat. On all 3 tacos. It was pretty awful. Being late at night on a Sunday is no excuse for being horrible.

Review №14

I had the Beyond Beef Burger lunch with the small beet salad! It was a really good no- meat burger! Also the fried cheesecake dessert was yummy! Service by Hadny, the waitperson and Joanna the manager( regarding using my Hilton points) was excellent! I look forward to returning to the Red Roost Tavern the next time I'm in Cincinnati!

Review №15

Smashed burger. You loose all the flavor doing that. Mac and cheese tasted like it was out of a box. Will not be back.

Review №16

Messed up our order, veggie burger seemed undercooked and the avocado burger didn't have much avocado at all, just some guacamole spread. All you could taste was the peppers on it. The fries are really nice though. Have a good beer selection. Definitely not worth the price, didn't live up to expectations.

Review №17

A good beer selection, great customer service, and a excellent breakfast buffet make this a solid choice when staying at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Cincinnati.

Review №18

Excellent food and service. I am a frequent visitor to Cincinnati and eat here regularly. The staff always does an excellent job, and food is always fresh.

Review №19

Excellent! I had the Filet special tonight. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

Review №20

We came here for the brunch buffet. The food was good and the servers very accommodating, however they aren't very good at dealing with large groups. Tip for the future, put water bottles, juice decanters, and coffee butlers on the table and let large groups serve themselves.

Review №21

Food was great. Shayne our server brought my son extra pineapple as it was his favorite fruit in his fruit bowl. Will dine again.

Review №22

Old fashion was nice, service was subpar. 45 mins only 3 tables and the food was even worse.

Review №23

Very nice restaurant. I had the breakfast bar. If you want omelets or waffles or pancakes you have to order with server but otherwise it was a good breakfast.

Review №24

Their burgers were delicious. I am happy we ordered it. Well worth trying. Fantastic veggie burger, and decent beer selection.

Review №25

Dirty plates & silverware (not polished). non-attentive staff. we waited for someone to seat for several minutes on a slow day. lady came up, talked to us and went off to do other things. bar none the worst ive seen in awhile. server was rude. they practically "dropped" my gals food on the table. we tried to flag down the waitress who seemed to ignore us. we went for a simple brunch on a slow day. horrible. wont be going back. beautiful space though... but who cares when the people inside aren't as beautiful

Review №26

Excellent service. Interesting menu.

Review №27

Went for dinner about a month ago and had the creole shrimp and grits as an appetizer at the suggestion of our friendly waitresses. It was one of the best things I'd eaten in a while. Went again today for breakfast and ordered the same thing for breakfast and they were two completely different dishes. This time the grits were extremely lumpy, there were less shrimp for more money, and there was none of the compound butter that made the appetizer so delicious. This was some diced onion, bell pepper, tomato, Cajun powdered seasoning and three shrimp for $15. I was really looking forward to having such a delicious dish again, but no such luck.

Review №28

Great place great food

Review №29

Good hotel restaurant. No complaints. Service was good, macaroni and cheese with brisket was also good. I'd eat here again, especially if I didn't feel like leaving the hotel.

Review №30

Waiter wasn't able to tell us basic things about the menu, food was subpar.

Review №31

Had a great breakfast here. The pancakes and waffles were amazing. It wasn't very crowded on a weekday morning. They also let us have a fantasy draft here at big table and they have a good beer selection. You have to go through the Hyatt to get in so a little hard to find from the street. Would recommend stopping in for a beer if you want to try a new place. Very clean and nice and has TV's to watch games.

Review №32

So far so good. Let's get down to it. The Spicy Avocado Burger is memorable to say the least. The classic flatbread was great but doesn't deserve fancy capital proper noun lettering since it was appetizer sized. Service has been great and the craft beer / liquor selection is vast. Expect downtown prices. You knew what to expect when you chose to eat and drink downtown :)

Review №33

Short rib was great. The old fashioned even better.

Review №34

Way overpriced. But, I ordered the breakfast for $15 for two per morning has a hotel upgrade. It's a large buffet that cooks fresh pancakes, French toast, waffles, omelettes, and about 30 other items on the buffet line. It was a no brainer steal. The food was really good. Especially or $7.50 per person - sort of shocking.Would I have paid the 18 per person without adding it to my hotel? Hell no. But if you add this to your hotel you get a killer deal.

Review №35

Went during lunch on a Friday, with a small group. I had the hummus appetizer, the veggie burger, and the pear side salad. It was all great. Service too. Veggie burger is made there, and very well. Hummus is more citrus than garlic, which I enjoyed. Even the pickles were delicious - they were a little bit spicy and sweet. Not sure if they make them there. Definitely want to go back and try something else.

Review №36

This restaurant is located within a hotel. We were able to eat there even without staying at the hotel. Food feels almost gourmet, due to the upscale location and the presentation (and taste!) of the food, but the price point isn't bad at all.

Review №37

Decent enough burger. Lots of bread with a small amount of beef. Good taste. Mac and cheese was served cold and was extremely cheesy. Maybe just bad luck. Tasty water.

Review №38

Very pricey but excellent food

Review №39

My friends loved their burgers and I loved the beet salad - amazingly yummy.

Review №40

We stayed at the Hyatt, so it was natural we would be eating at the roost. The food was just ok, nothing special. It felt like they went out of their way to make the place look nice, and have “specialty” food(cage free eggs, locally sourced whatever, nitrate free, etc), when in the end the food really wasn't good. The prices of the food were indicative of the “specialty” side of things, and not food quality or taste. Cage free, nitrate free, and local foods don't really matter too much when they're really not palatable. I wouldn't go back

Review №41

All the food is good, but the french toast is amazing

Review №42

Napierre, our server, was very accommodating and friendly. It was difficult to choose our entrees because there were so many options, but what we chose was just right. The atmosphere is inviting. Easily worthy of 5 stars! Highly recommended.

Review №43

For a restaurant in a hotel, its ok. Not worth a trip back to though.

Review №44

Excellent food and drinks. Bartenders are awesome.

Review №45

Good service for drinks can't comment on food as we didn't eat here

Review №46

The steak was excellent.

Review №47

Both the food and the service was excellent!! We had the brisket tacos and fried cheesecake! Wonderfully tasty!

Review №48

Interesting menu. Great staff. Cold beer

Review №49

Loved the korean bbq wings!

Review №50

We can't say enough nice things about the Hyatt Regency. This is going to focus on the restaurant, breakfast specifically. Fantastic. Do you need more?? Ok. We love to come here for our anniversary. Whenever we do, they treat us like royalty. Want a high floor? Done. In a quiet corner? Of course. They usually offer us free breakfast, but alas, not this time. However, they offered it to us for $25. It's an amazing breakfast. They have a beautiful buffet, plus you can order special made eggs, pancakes, etc. The fruit is outta this world and the starbStar coffee strong. This is the place where you go for a special weekend.

Review №51

Don't skip the hotel bar/restaurant at the downtown Hyatt Regency. Menu rotation, and locally sourced ingredients make this a place easily repeatable. Good selection of vegetarian options. It feels like our little secret right now, very rarely a wait for a table.

Review №52

Beautiful in Hyatt Hotel, downtown convenience...great food, excellent staff!

Review №53

Inside the Hyatt. Smells great and looks nice.

Review №54

Went on a sunday night. Food and service excellent.

Review №55

Nice variety, excellent quality, good service, open late.

Review №56

Fantastic food!

Review №57

Good vegan alternative food.

Review №58

Food is okay, horrible service. Where to start...maybe it was the unopened beer bottle that we had to send back to get opened or the fact that they were out of so many things on the menu but took 20+minutes after ordering to come back to tell us and then expected us to order something new without a menu. Had to ask for that too. Drinks were never refilled or even offered. Overall just a terrible experience.

Review №59

Great food, although pretty expensive. Our waitress was amazing and funny and gave great suggestions! A little busy, but still I would recommend going!

Review №60

I spent almost three hours in this restaurant not because I wanted to but because the service was so incredibly slow. First round of drinks came out quickly because the manager asked what we would like to drink. Finally when the waiter came to our table we ordered appetizers and entrees at the same time. Or appetizer the chorizo dip came out pretty quickly but then we waited almost an hour for our meal.I ordered the fish tacos and my wife got a Flat bread pizza. When my fish tacos arrived the others at the table could smell the fishy smell but I thought hey they were fish tacos so I would give them a try. I took one bite and gagged. They were ice cold and tasted horribly like day old grilled fish. I then spent the next 20 min trying to flag down the waiter so I could send my food back but he was too busy cleaning other tables and organizing silverware to be bothered to even ask how our meal was. After I waved my hands in the air like I was trying to flag down an aircraft he finally came over at which point I told him about the food and that I would like my bill so we could go.My wife and I then sat with our friends and waited, and waited, and waited....... After an hour and ten min I finally went to track down the manager. She was incredibly helpful and sat with us until we got our bill, as it arrived I opened it and her jaw hit the floor when she saw $220 in drinks charged to our bill when she knew we struggled to even get the first one. She fixed the bill immediately and informed us that our server was from Paraguay, and she was sorry.I absolutely would never return. The single positive part of the evening was the manager, who is amazing, helping us figure everything out, she offered to pay for all of our food, which we declined because was ate three of the four things we ordered. Her willingness to help us and her apology helped smooth over the horrendous service and sub par food. If she reads this I hope she knows that I appreciate her but I totally loathe the server.

Review №61

Nice place to have a drink or pub food. Really loud though. Hard to have conversations when place is busy.

Review №62

Brisket tacos were delicious, burger was OK, service was terribly slow.

Review №63

Great breakfast buffet, but very pricey $$$

Review №64

Breakfast buffet is the best I've ever seen! If you can't find it there you won't find it!! Staff wa so friendly too!

Review №65

Was not impressed at all. The dessert was the only high light of the meal. Service was not very good. Sitting here waiting for our server to take the bill. Not even that busy.

Review №66

Nice small place to meet with freinds

Review №67

Overrated... Service was average and so was the food. I expected a much better experience.

Review №68

Very good good, the turkey club was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. A little pricey for lunch.

Review №69

Breakfast was amazing - some of the best pastries we've ever had. The server and cook were extremely nice, and took great care of us.

Review №70

Breakfast bar is delicious! My server Helny was super sweet and gave me great service!

Review №71

A little pricey but it was good.

Review №72

Best casual lobby restaurant experience. Would gladly eat again.

Review №73

I was at a conference and ate here 3 nights. Food was excellent and the bar was open!

Review №74

Went for a business breakfast, service was outstanding and the menu was creative. Much more than your standard buffet!

Review №75

Food was okay, but a bit over priced for quality and quantity.

Review №76

Amazing food and a great atmosphere. The server was was prompt and courteous. We tried the duck, salmon, short rib, and the dessert was phenomenal.

Review №77

The service was okay but the food was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Review №78

Very good food

Review №79

I was there for a conference and as a group decided to eat dinner there. The whole experience was horrible. The waiter was not friendly but we chose to ignore this. When we were seated, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We quickly got seated and placed our order because we were starving but also knew that a droove of people would be coming to the restaurant that were at the conference. One of my friends and I ordered wings, I thought how could they mess that up. My other four friends all had other items. 45 minutes later our food came out. I ate a flat and it was ok, then I bit into a drummette that was raw. I looked at the plate and there was blood settling at the bottom. My friend had the same experience with hers. I told the waiter that it was not fully cooked and he asked if I wanted to send it back to get finished. By that time everyone else was finished with dinner. I told him I didn't want it, and I don't have the time to wait for it. So the manager came over and he would take care of our bill and he apologized. When the bills came my friend was still charged for a Pepsi and I was charged for a fry. I was like really, the manager just said he'd take care of the bill. The manager came over and said, well you ate the fry and your friend drank the Pepsi. My friends all interjected and that's when he said don't worry about it. It was the worst experience. The wings were raw, the waiter and manager need a few lessons in customer service and the kitchen needs a chef that won't serve undercook food. Don't waste your time, or money on dinning there. HORRIBLE!!!!

My boyfriend and I wanted to go to a nice dinner to treat ourselves. We should have picked any other place than this one. At first there was no hostess so we just walked right into the restaurant. They seemed understaffed or just not staffed with very attentive people. We ordered drinks from our server and it took 10 minutes to arrive to our table which seems like along time, when she came back with my drink she then told my boyfriend they did not have the beer that he ordered on the menu- after ten minutes. He then chose another beer that arrived another 10 minutes later. We ordered the kettle chips and were happy with them but then again it would be hard to mess something that simple up. After that we both had the french onion soup, which when ordering the entree she asked my boyfriend if he wanted french onion soup believing it to be a side option for the burger, he said yes. This type of up-selling is quite a disgusting way to raise a check average and is not appreciated in any form in any restaurant I have worked in nor managed. It was absolutely horrid to say the least. It had almost no flavor and was cold at the bottom which we didn't care about the temperature because we certainly were not going to eat that much of it with it tasting that bad. Then our entrees came out. I had a salad with salmon and he had the burger medium rare. The burger was cooked more towards medium/well done with no flavor at all and the salmon on the salad was portioned so small there was available worth eating. We were directly talking about how terrible the food was when the server came over and asked if we wanted a box and dessert. We said no to dessert, no need to be more disappointed in this place. We really didn't want a box either, it was not worth taking home even though we didn't even eat half of the entrees. We accepted the boxes and she gave us the check and then asked if it was cash or credit and continued to stand in front of our table until we paid. We were entirely offended with this gesture. We were not nor have ever walked out of a bill and this gesture insinuated that we were going to. I have been a server and server manager for many years and have never been treated with such offense. We paid and quickly left, obviously we were not wanted there. I called the restaurant managers but have yet to hear a response back. Were used to paying good money for good food but this is over-priced, over-cooked garbage. I do not in any way recommend this restaurant for any reason due to the lack of appropriate up-selling techniques, poor service, and even worse food quality. If you're hungry and have no where to go I recommend driving for 2 more minutes up to vine street where the food is good and the service is quality unlike the disgusting up-selling techniques, poor service, and garbage food of this restaurant.3/07/15 After talking to the manager- who was very kind and understanding- I have to change my review. Within food service all restaurants have some bad days, even servers- were all people, we all make mistakes. He let me know that the menu is changing to the summer menu and wanted us to come back in, I told him we would think about it. He was happy to hear the feed back, good and bad, about the restaurant and was accommodating and understanding of our displeasure about the treatment. So after the conversation I must say that I have a better understanding of the restaurant and am giving 3 stars due to the managements ability to handle and turn around a not so great experience.

Review №81

Had very attentive and friendly staff. The food was good.

Review №82

The way this place took care of me and my dad was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end! On top of that, we had some great food!! So we will definitely be coming back. For starters, a place that actually provides not just free parking, but free valet parking in the middle of downtown - that's amazing! They get major points just for that.My father and I visited on a Wednesday evening around 5p and mostly had the place to ourselves - perfect to have a laid back birthday meal! We planned on simply sharing an appetizer and then getting dessert. Even though we opted to sit at a table instead of the bar, we were still welcome to take part in happy hour! They didn't seem to have a menu reflecting these prices, though. So if you want specifics, you'd have to ask your server. We were torn between the House Kettle Chips and the Poutine and asked our server for her opinion - she suggested the former and we took her up on it! The chips came on a huge platter and were covered with buffalo chicken and blue cheese fondue. The buffalo sauce definitely provided the strongest flavor in this dish and a little goes a long way. Frankly, this dish reminded me that buffalo sauce isn't my favorite. However, the chips were great! Thick and with the perfect crunch to them. And the chicken was pulled and very tender. We weren't even halfway through this enormous appetizer before our waitress came to check on us and let us know that the chef decided to send out an order of the poutine since I'd expressed an interest and in honor of my birthday - on the house! The poutine was just as large as the chips - a huge pile of hand-cut fries covered in duck gravy, duck confit and local cheese curds. The gravy was different from most. It tasted as if it had a tomato aspect to it, which I loved! The duck was very tender and the curds large and yummy! This was definitely my favorite between the two appetizers and also one of the better poutines I've had anywhere. I frequently find that poutine's can lack flavor (because the gravy lacks flavor). But this did quite the opposite. When our waitress came back around to check in on us again, I asked for to-go boxes (there was no way we'd be able to finish both appetizers and still have room for dessert) and to see a dessert menu. But she told me that the chef was already putting together a special dessert for my birthday - again, on the house!A few minutes after bringing our boxed up appetizers, our waitress brought out a long platter that was covered with four different desserts! One scoop of Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip, Deep Fried Bread Pudding, Flourless Chocolate Cake and House-Made Vanilla Ice Cream. Of course, the Graeter's was perfect. The cake was enrobed in a layer of rich chocolate ganache that I loved! I have to say that the cake itself wasn't my favorite. But that bread pudding rocked!! It's basically little balls of bread pudding that have been covered in a funnel-cake dough and then deep fried. It's served with a delightful bourbon creme friache and an apricot chutney. The outside of these little nuggets had just enough crisp while the inside remained tender and moist. They also paired very nicely with the awesome vanilla ice cream!Because of the Happy Hour prices, our bill was only $7 while we were served about $25-$30 worth of food! And the whole time our waitress was perfect! She checked in on us on a regular basis, she was friendly and she was able to answer all of our questions.Needless to say, I can't wait to go back! I need to get that poutine and bread pudding again. Although their burger and the napoleon look pretty tempting as well....
